iOS 14 Beta is now available for the public to try as Apple has started rolling out a user-friendly beta test build. You can install the early version of the upcoming update on your phone if you’re using a fairly recent iPhone or iPad; Apple has brought many new features that will change how we use iPhones.
Some of the features we love are the new widgets that can be placed on the home screen anywhere, an app drawer feature called the “App Library” to make the home screen less cluttered, and revamped messages for iPhone users. Apple has also added a few hidden features you can find here that the company hasn’t talked about at its live event.
We must warn that some users may find the iOS 14 Public Beta buggy. However, we’ve found the Public Beta to be pretty stable so far, but you can expect inconsistent performance as the beta update is meant to test future features and give Apple feedback. We suggest that you install the update on an older iPhone which isn’t your primary device if you can’t really wait for the full release. Having said that, we suggest you take your device backup either on your laptop or iCloud to be on the safer side so you can roll back to iOS 13 if needed.
The list of iPhones supporting the iOS 14 update includes iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max, iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR, iPhone X, iPhone 8 and 8 Plus, iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, iPhone 6S, and 6S Plus as well as the original iPhone SE.
